CC 160 - Interpersonal Communication Skills

Credits: 4
The most pervasive aspect of human behavior across the globe is the ability to connect with others. This course underscores that universal value and also unravels the complexities associated with communication and interpersonal relationships. Students are presented with a variety of issues, themes, and research areas related to the development, maintenance, and decay of our relationships with others. Course explores such areas as nonverbal communication, perception, self-disclosure, conflict and power, technology, and culture as they relate to our conversations and relationships with others. Course adheres to a theory-skill approach, noting how theory informs skill and how skill reflects theory.
