CC 230 - EsportsCredits: 4 This course explores the history of Esports as well as the complexities involved in marketing to the present demographic and overall landscape of Esports. They learn to navigate the structure of Esports teams, gaming companies, and affiliate organizations. Case studies are utilized to understand management approaches that have succeeded and failed in recent Esports teams. Students learn baseline skills in broadcasting: audio and visual paradigms, leading software, film and sound editing, podcasting and written communication, and practical telecasting. The course involves an experiential learning component, where students take on management roles within Emerson’s and surrounding Boston-area colleges’ Esports team entities.
