CC 250 - Introduction to Public Relations

Credits: 4
This introductory course analyzes  the history and evolution of public relations, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to navigate and influence the modern media/communication landscape. This course may cover a variety of topics including: (1) historical development of public relations, (2) theoretical and practical approaches to public relations, (3) strategy adaptation in changing media landscapes and (4) design and implementation of a public relations campaign. Because PR is dynamic and ever changing, the goal of the course is for  students to leave with the ability to critically evaluate PR strategies and adapt when necessary to current and future media environments.
