CC 405 - Pre-Election PollingCredits: 4 This course delves into the critical analysis of pre-election polling, aiming to train students in understanding and interpreting poll results within political discourse. This course explores the importance of election and public opinion polls, media reporting, and their influence on public perception and political decision-making. At the end of the semester, students ought to possess the ability to critically evaluate the use and impact of polls in politics. Class readings/discussions could highlight: theoretical underpinnings of polling, effective and impactful survey methodologies, media analysis, and practical polling exercises to apply classroom knowledge in real-world contexts.
