EC 311 - Hollywood EconomicsCredits: 4 Introduces students to the economic models and modes of thinking that can help understanding of the film industry in the US. Particular focus is given to the impacts of uncertainty and information flow issues, as well as how these issues have evolved due to increasing digitization of the film industry. Students apply economic concepts and information flow to address contemporary problems in the film industry including internationalization, segmentation of audiences, the declining value of starts, and the rise of streaming.
