PH 305 - Great PhilosophersCredits: 4 This course is devoted to the study of individual thinkers whose work has contributed to shape the philosophical tradition. Based on primary texts, its goal is to reconstruct the genesis of key ideas, the lines of continuity and rupture in the corpus of a single author, and the impact those ideas have had on other thinkers and traditions. Philosophers are announced prior to each term and may include Plato, Kant, Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Wittgenstein, Heidegger, Arendt, Beauvoir, Murdoch, Davis, Lugones, and others.
