SO 211 - Ethno/Graphic StorytellingCredits: 4 In this course we will engage with anthropological research as multi-genre storytelling through conventional ethnography, ethnographic novels (including graphic novels), creative non-fiction, poetry, film, and performance. What kinds of worlds emerge through these different forms of storytelling? What are the creative building blocks of these worlds in terms of form, (use of) research data, and the power dynamic between the researchers and their research participants? How can we imagine more capacious and life-sustaining worlds? Considering these questions, the course provides you a space to tell your own ethnographic stories as scholars, writers, and visual artists.
