CC 680 - Rosarito Public Diplomacy WorkshopCredits: 4 credits (Semester varies) Provides students the opportunity to study immigration and border issues in a public diplomacy workshop in Rosarito Beach, Baja, Mexico. Students meet with change agents and organizations who have successfully engineered grassroots efforts to bridge cultural and political divides between the US and Mexico. Special attention is focused on diverse communication challenges and how politics, economics, and culture influence such efforts. This year’s workshop focuses on border and immigration issues from the Mexican and US perspectives, with visits with leaders in government, business, NGOs, students, and citizens in Mexico and the US. Students stay at the gated and historic Rosarito Beach Hotel in Rosarito Beach, Baja California.
