TH 619 - Developmental Psychology

The class explores stage/age-related physical, cognitive, and psychosocial development across the lifespan. You will be introduced to a variety of perspectives on growth and development, including psychoanalytic, behavioral, and psychosocial models. Topics include physical and sensory maturation; thinking, reasoning, and the development of language; social cognition; personality, temperament, and the development of a sense of self. Attention is also given to broader issues of development in adult life, including identity exploration; navigating the transitions of adulthood; and death, dying, and bereavement.
