HE 302 - Understanding Health Data, Research, and EthicsCredits: 4 Understanding, interpreting and using data in a meaningful way is a core function of public health, particularly to affect social change through policy. How this data is collected, what it does (and doesn’t) tell us about population health, and how we can use data to identify solutions to public health challenges will be addressed. This course will provide an introductory overview to epidemiology - the backbone of public health - as well as scientific research more broadly. Students will learn to translate health data for multiple audiences and will examine the ethical implications of scientific and health research.
