TH 223 - Movement for Actors IICredits: 4 This course builds on the skills and practices explored in TH123 Movement for Actors I, working towards the development of a more expressive, nuanced, available, and capable physical instrument. Areas of focus may include physical approaches to character building, internal and physical stamina, collaborative group devising, and the development of movement practices that align with varied mediums of performance. Self-awareness and character work will increase students’ navigation of power and privilege, both in a theatrical context, and in society. Additionally, a series of written reflective assignments will underscore the physical work and performance projects of this course. Significant personal and group preparation work is required outside of class time.
