CD 400 - Clinical FoundationsCredits: 4 This course is an introduction to the clinical processes and methodologies that are the foundations for observation, assessment, and treatment of communication disorders of children and adults, specifically speech and language disorders. This course will build the foundation (to include ethics, confidentiality, and universal precautions), and will begin to integrate theoretical knowledge to clinical application through observation and participation in assigned clinical activities, while incorporating clinical writing tasks throughout. Additionally, this course will integrate the necessary topic areas to move towards ASHA certification for speech language assistants.
Prerequisite(s): CD 312 and CD 313 (may be taken concurrently) Course Restrictions: Junior or Senior standing required Liberal Arts Perspective(s):
