IN 229 - Introduction to Latinx Studies

Credits: 4
An introduction to the historical and contemporary development of Chicanx and Latinx communities in the United States. Students discuss political and social identities and how they are formed over the course of Latinx History in the United States. Focus is on specific historical moments, movements, and cultural productions that shape the political, social, and economic contexts for Latinxs in the US. Course also reviews different methods to understanding multiple US Latinx experiences.
