CC 336 - Sports ManagementCredits: 4 credits Provides an extensive overview of the management of professional, amateur, and recreational sports and the analytical skills necessary for sports managers to succeed in sports organizations. Aims to provide practical, hands-on experience in the sports industry by surveying the business models of the sports leagues, organizations, and business sectors (such as media, licensing, facilities, etc.). Emphasis is placed on how the application of analytics has altered the decision-making processes of sports organizations. Students examine marketing techniques and activities used to advertise and promote sports events and undertake a comprehensive survey and analysis of the state of digital media and marketing in sports today. (Semester varies)
