CD 467 - Introductory Audiology

Includes detailed anatomy and physiology of the ear with an overview of the physics of sound. Covers hearing assessments, including pure tone and speech audiometry, audiogram interpretation, and identification of common disorders of the ear. Examines the effects of hearing loss and introduces current medical and clinical management of hearing loss, including amplification and Assistive Listening Devices. (Semester varies)
