TH 371 - Topics in Theatre Practice

Credits: 4 credits

Examines specific topics in theatre practice such as Devising, Dance Theatre, Documentary Theatre Practice, Creative Producing, and Applied Theatre. Students engage across disciplines in interdisciplinary practice that is not defined by or particular to any one program area. Emphasis is placed on questions raised regarding the relationship between theory and practice when traditional training in theatre encounters a process of contemporary creative collaboration that is interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary by nature. Students also explore performing arts practice in form and content as integral to the role of theatre in society. Prerequisites: junior standing and course prerequisites may vary according to topic.
