LI 316 - Literature of the Gothic IICredits: 4 credits Explores literature in the evolving tradition that began with the gothic novels of the 18th century and is still with us today. This course starts with the “second wave” of Gothic writing, the all-important Victorians, moving through the birth of modernism and onward to Gothic post-modernity. Prerequisites: 200-level Literature class and junior standing. (Semester varies)
