MD 641 - Mapping Community Engagement WorkshopCredits: 4 credits (Spring) Media Design students are civic designers working to develop portfolios to position their work as such. The mapping community engagement workshop offers an opportunity for students to explore areas of interest related to their thesis work and to develop deep literature review and field scans that support an area of interest and help them develop a knowledge base to support their thesis prototype. Students develop work plans with research/production goals for their project and detailed reading lists to support their work. The course focuses on critique as an emphasis on the workshop, and students present work in various formats and engage in critique with peers. At the conclusion of the course, students will have developed literature reviews and deep field scans to articulate where their thesis project is situated. Per form, this is a required course.
