CC 652 - Emerging Communication TechnologiesCredits: 4 credits (Fall) Surveys the political and social trends of the effects and uses of web-based communication, especially social media, in the shaping and reshaping of institutions. Students develop knowledge and skills in assessing and developing communication strategies for how to best reach multiple stakeholders and audiences with an emphasis on online communication. Through readings, exercises, and projects such as social media audits, students engage in strategic communication planning to best develop every aspect of an institution’s public relations-from the narrowest internal communication to the broadest public communication campaigns.
