PB 690 - Internship

The College encourages students to participate in internships to gain practical experience and develop professional contacts. Internships in publishing involve work in writing, publishing, or other related areas. During the semester, students attend required class meetings and complete assignments with the WLP’s Departmental Internship Coordinator, and are supervised by and receive evaluations from an employee of the organization where they are interning. A 4-credit internship requires a minimum of 192 internship hours over the course of the semester (around 16 to 24 hours per week), with a minimum 10-week duration. Students must register for PB 690 and submit an internship proposal for approval through the Career Development Center’s Handshake website. Any student wishing to undertake an 8-credit internship in a single semester (totaling 384 internship hours, around 32 hours per week, over the course of the semester) must seek prior approval from the WLP’s Departmental Internship Coordinator.

Students are required to attend class meetings and complete assignments with the departmental internship coordinator.
