TH 646 - Thesis Preparation

In this graduate level course, students will prepare to design, co/facilitate, assess and reflect upon their spring semester MFA thesis projects. They will explore various approaches used in designing and conducting arts-based qualitative research for projects in educational, artistic, and community settings through reflective practitioner and action research methodologies. They will gain hands-on experience in various qualitative methods and analysis/reflection techniques including conducting interviews, and doing field observations as outsider as well as participant observers. Students will learn how to use the Emerson library and online scholar databases to seek and find research that informs their projects.
