TH 661 - Drama as Education II

Drama as Education 2 examines the philosophy behind theatre pedagogy and how it can be integrated into drama pedagogy in the PK-12 classroom. With application from Drama as Education 1, topics in this course include: Student-Centered Learning; Workstations for Skill Development, Critically-Oriented Drama Education (CODE); Culturally and Historically Responsive Education (CHRE); Understanding by Design (UbD); and MA state theatre standards. There are required hours of pre-practicum work, including observation and teaching in local theatre and drama classes in grades pre-K through 12, and is required as a licensure gateway into Drama as Education 3.
