CDE 100 - Community Development Experience

The 1-credit Community Development Experience (CDE) is designed to provide students with an option for experiential learning through civic engagement for academic credit. Through working on projects in partnership with nonprofit organizations, students will develop career competencies such as critical thinking, interpersonal communication, and equity & inclusion, while using their skills to be agents for change. Students must have completed 2 semesters in college with at least 1 at Emerson, maintain a minimum 2.7 GPA, and both submission and approval of the Internship Application are required prior to starting the CDE. No more than 2 CDE credits may be applied to the total graduation requirements. Students may use no more than 13 credits of any combination of CDE, PDE, and internship credits towards the total graduation requirements. This course is graded Pass/Fail and does not count toward any major, minor, or Liberal Arts requirement.

Course Restrictions: Sophomore standing.
