JR 217 - Public Affairs ReportingCredits: 4 Introduces the structure and functions of state, local, and federal government from a journalist’s perspective. Students report and write in-depth stories on proposed legislation, campaign finance, and current issues in government. Students also become familiar with and make use of public records and open meeting laws, learn advanced reporting skills through readings and class lectures, and review and critique each other’s stories.
