PH 212 - The Ethics of EatingCredits: 4 When we eat, we take a bite of the world; we transform the world into persons. Eating is not only a requirement of our species, it is a deeply human action. Choices about what to eat are biological, social, political, and deeply ethical. This course covers the welfare of non-human animals, the impact of the global food system on our health, and how eating choices affect our environment. Because we are what we eat, students also reflect on the best and worst of humanity, and how our food systems embody our concepts of race, gender, and class.
