JR 302 - Covering ImmigrationCredits: 4 This course is designed to help Journalism students understand the complexities of covering immigration as a beat. Students analyze coverage in the US and gain a working knowledge of the many institutions involved in creating immigration policy as well as a fundamental understanding of immigration law. Students choose an immigrant or refugee community in the Boston area and produce a series of stories, culminating in a multimedia project about a particular challenge that group is facing.
